AFANT – Gone Fishing Day 2016

Celebrate AFANT Gone Fishing Day 2016 – Get Involved!

AFANT is hosting the first ever NT Gone Fishing Day on the 16 October 2016 at Lake Bennett Wildness Resort. It is a day when all Territorians can get out on the water for a fish and celebrate our love of fishing.

As Lake Bennett is an artificial lake this is an ideal venue in which the general public can receive instruction on the use of fishing equipment and have the opportunity to catch numerous iconic NT fish species such as Barramundi, Tarpon and Sooty Grunter in a safe, easy accessible and crocodile free location.

In addition, AFANT also arranged for numerous partner organizations such as NT Parks Crocwise, Department of Fisheries, Maritime Safety, Million Dollar Barra, NT Water Police and the Royal Lifesaving Association RiverSafe team to also attend this event.

So grab the family, take a mate or just take time out for yourself and enjoy a day of fishing with the help of AFANT.

Fishing gear will be provided so everybody can wet a line. This includes the use of the Lake Bennet Resort canoes to get out on the water and a free sausage sizzle.

AFANT will be providing Gone Fishing Day goodie bags to all attendees with a variety of great fishing gear.

There are great prizes just for registering to attend the event and we will also be running a kids and adults casting competition with fantastic prizes.

Registration is essential via the AFANT Facebook page with a schedule of events to be released shortly. To register please click here.
