AFANT has sent us a notification to let us know that new Ichthys Project Darwin Harbour information poster have been installed in the last few days at the East Arm, Palmerston and Dinah Beach recreational boat ramps.

They also sent us a poster of what the signs say so click here to download this handy little poster.

Ichthys Project works in Darwin Harbour

Activity will get underway in Darwin Harbour later this month on an important part of the Ichthys Project’s gas export pipeline works.

The Project’s 889-kilometre gas export pipeline (GEP) will ultimately connect the onshore processing facility at Bladin Point to the Ichthys Field (the Field) in the Browse Basin, about 220 kilometres off Western Australia’s Kimberley coast.

Several of the DGFC club members swear by John’s book. John will also have some copies available for sale on the night.

DPC Marine Risk Assesment

The Darwin Port Corporation has advised that Marico Marine have been appointed to conduct a marine risk assessment for the Port of Darwin.

They will be in Darwin for a week commencing the 22nd of June 2015.

Darwin Harbour Control provides a Traffic Organisation Service (TOS) in accordance with IALA Guidelines and Recommendations, as recommended by IMO. This service is defined as:

“A service to provide for the safe and efficient movement of traffic and to identify and manage potentially dangerous traffic situations. A Traffic Organisation Service provides essential and timely information to assist the on-board decision-making process and may advise, instruct or exercise the authority to direct movements”
