DTBC’s presence at the Darwin Boat Travel & Leisure Show was a great success!
The Berley tank was a great success with those who attended last weekends Darwin Boat Travel & Leisure Show.
As always the Darwin Game Fishing Club showed their generosity and they donated the barras from the tank to the Food Bank. Our Chef Wayne has a bit of filleting to do.
The DTBC was represented at the show with a booth that was staffed by Members of the Club Council. Many thanks to all the Council Members who worked tirelessly prior to the weekend to set up the booth and during the weekend to promote the Club and the upcoming Coopers Blue Water Classic 2016 competition.
We also had a successful lures guessing competition during the show days. Visitors had to guess how many lures were in the tank at the booth for their chance to win a free team entry into this year’s Coopers Blue Water Classic, plus bring home all the lures & the tank itself!
We had 615 entries in total and only 5 people were able to guess the right amount of lures, which was 122. A random draw was done among the 5 contestants and Daniel Burlon became the lucky winner! Congratulations Daniel! Please see some pictures below of Daniel collecting his prize at the Club.
This year, further interest was generated by the 3 x 2 m giant photo-collage, which included images from the Coopers Blue Water Classic over the past 10 years, between 2005 an 2015! Visitors passing by stopped at our booth trying to see if they could find themselves in one of the dozens of pictures on the booth wall. Some of them did recognise themselves or some of their family members and they started taking pictures of the pictures to share them with family & friends! Well, that was our goal, and we must say, we did achieved it!
Overall, it was great fun all of us & for the visitors and we are already looking forward to next year’s Boat Show!
