It is with great regret that our President Tony Butler and Trisha have resigned from the DTBC Council effective from 1 May 2018.
Tony and Trisha are both life members and have been members for over 25 years.
Tony has held numerous roles while serving on the Council, including Vice President and President for the last 12 years. He has overseen the upgrade and transformation of the clubhouse and the club, to the strong position that we are in now.
Trisha has also been on various committees over the years, and more recently has been our Assistant Treasurer.
Without Tony and Trisha’s drive, I’m sure the Coopers Blue Water Classic would not be the premier fishing competition that it is today. They initiated this competition over 15 years ago, as well as annual trips to the Top End Rivers, a Kids Classic and a Ladies Fishing Day.
Even though Tony is a hopeless fisherman (despite having his name on some trophies in the clubhouse) he has always given his all, and boating and fishing has been his number one objective in keeping this Club going.
Tony and Trish are moving to Forge Creek in Victoria, to start a new chapter in their lives and chase those world renowned sportfish, the Flathead.
On behalf of the Committee, Management, Staff and Members, we thank them both for their years of dedication and hard work, and wish them well in their new endeavours.
